What a fun Q,,,thanks,,smiles. I have no real clue, but suspect the sign means "UM yeah I know I had to walk here to place the sign"
I have a Q,,, Why is it that soooooooooo many people have to "test" the validity of a "WET PAINT" sign???
If I were you, I'd continue to expand on this, and get into word play,,, IE: signs. I often see signs saying "AMPLE PARKING" but I have yet to discover what a AMPLE is.

The gardener or homeowner put the sign there, one person can walk on it without doing damage if they do it right, the point is to keep "foot traffic" off the grass and killing it.

The signs get put there by flying vehicles. It's usually the unmarked black helicopters owned by the CIA. Sometimes aliens put them there, if there's a really important crop circle planned for the area. Talk to your local drunken bum about it, they've always got the DL on this sort of thing.
