I dont know if you saw it or heard it or wateva, but this is how zidane got the red card: materazzi was holding him on his stomach during some kind of free kick, then let go, then they started talking, and then zidane started to walk away and then you cud see materazzi's lips moving. next thing you knew, zidane spun around and pushed his head into materazzi's stomach. Normally he has everything under control. He's used to be called old etc. He's used to getting fouled.
SO WHAT DID MATERAZZI SAY?!?!?!
(btw i was not really for france or italy, i'd just love to know!!!!)

The only reason I can think is that Zizou was not living upto the standards he is known for. He scored a lone goal which came off a penalty. Even the goal he scored did not really impress.
Moreover, Zidane is known for his short tempers.
To aggrevate the 'pain', Italian goalkeeper saved a wonderful cross from him in the second half (remember).
All this might have added up resulting in the outburst. Materrazi's holding his stomach may just have 'ignited' the bomb.
I dont think he really said anything provocative to Zidane.
