I think matterazi insulted zidane.

Well because Matterazi said something that ticked Zidane off but this is not unusual for Zidane. A couple of years ago he pushed a player from Saudi Arabia down and stomped on his back!!!

Well, If you watched the replay, Matterazi kinda held Zidane, but it was nothing out of the ordinary. However after that they started talking and Matterazi said something to piss Zidane off and he turned back and hit him.

Because he did not use his head to think. You just don't do something that stupid. Especially when you are Zidane and soon to be remembered in Sports History as a great football player along with The King Pele.

I believe Matterazi baited Zidane into taking that penalty. Zidane showed his world class stupidity for takling the bait. There is no other explanation.

zidane was a gud player but to lose ur cool like that is inexcusable. he just cracked, couldn't take the pressure. Italy deserved to win.

Cause he's a self-centered, ignorant bastard. You don't do that, even if the opponent is talking smack. Smack (verbal) is not nearly as bad as a hit to the solorplex by your head (head butt). And for that, he should be fined, and even suspended from career play.
