Yeah you will--remorse about ten feet after you jumped. If you really want to do yourself in, step out in front of one of those commuter trains. There's no time to change your mind and agonize over it, and there'll be absolutely no chance of putting your Humpty back together again. You'll be spread all over the tracks, and maybe some innocent bystanders, like a busted watermellon.

Chances are that it will hurt and you might be knocked out on impact causing you to drown. You might just break your neck and be pulled out by some witness and live the rest of your life paralyzed from the shoulders down. Life in a wheel chair, someone feeding you or just food in a tube and a bag to poop in. What are you thinking! We have one life to give all that we can to make it great, if you are upset and want to end it, please ask for help. You can't get a do over once you have left the bridge. I think you have a lot of living left to do and someone special is waiting to meet you, this trama will pass. Now go live, and do something great.

Unless you dive well, you will feel various bones splinter. You will float for some time as you thrash around in agony from the broken bones, but will not likely sink, so you may feel some burning from the pollutants in the East River, and perhaps the odd "nibble" from a gator discarded because it has grown too big.
Then you will feel the hook of a rescue worker, who will be polite (because he/she is obliged to), but efficient (which can be painful) in "processing you" before sending you to the hospital.

Instead talk to doctor or trust worthy family or friend.

chances are you will get arrested or fined for vandalism. Destruction of city/government property is prohibited, it may even be a federal offense.

A man tried to commit suicide on a subway a few weeks ago and is now living with amputated leg(s)...

if you jump in the water you may live but with brain damage-due to lack of oxygen, then you will have no control then to make any decisions.

don't use suicide to punish or get attention from family or friends, because after their mourning they will go on with their lives
