yes it probably is, but that one they got presented with was not solid gold because they were picking it up with one hand, a solid gold world cup would probably weigh about 13-15Kg, bit heavy for waving about.

No. It is chocolate and has the same gold wrapper as the gold coins you get at christmas. That's why the players keep kissing it! They are infact nibbling away at it.

yes but from what i heard it seems to be that the one given on the field to the winning team is not real do to security reasons... so i guess the real one is given to them later on or something.
