As long as I have been on here I have found that 98.99 per cent of the people vote for what they think is the best answer for the type of question they have ask.
The remaining per cent vote just for the points they can get with out reading the question for best answer.
The 10 point winner can be some one that just started or the top leader in level 7. So what differences does it make on his/her profile.

People vote for best answer because they think it is the best answer. What does a person's profile have to do with it? They may even ask and answer silly questions (JUST FOR FUN) but ya know, that is just the way it is. Kind of like people blindly voted for GEORGE without knowing his REAL profile. Just the way it goes I suppose. A poet and don't know it......LOL

Is this about politics, or Yahoo Answers points?
If it's Yahoo Answers, I don't care WHO the answer came from, I vote for what I feel is the best answer.
Some people like to vote as much as they can to get points, and don't care what they vote for; they game the system for their own points. More power to them that they feel these points are actually worth that much....

Why do you pretend to know what I do or don't do before I vote? And by the way, people aren't the only things to vote on, so what do know about preparing to vote?
