First off. What size tank are they in? 30 gallons for a goldfish, and 10 gallons after everyone...so you are looking for a 50 gallon tank..unless you want to stunt their growth, and have them die. Plecos need ALOT of space. They are also tropical fish..and need some heat. is there a light above the tank? If so..that should keep the temperature nice for the pleco.

K, consult a book if you're going to breed goldfish, because they'll be a little more finickey than your betas were. They need more than a 4 litre tank, as they have an ineffecient digestive system that produces a lot of waste. They'll need about 10 gallons per adult fish to be happy. They'll live on less, but their growth will be stunted and they're not likely to spawn. Suckerfish are fine to be fed on algae pellets. Suckerfish are also known to eat the protective slime coat off of your goldfish, so keep an eye on it. If it latches on to your fish, it'll create a break in the coat where harmful bacteria can get in. Breeding goldfish have temperature preferences, special dietary needs, and like to have some nice grass to deposit their eggs in. Most any good goldfish book should give you the appropriate information.

The fish you have are not compatible.

Plecos are tropical, semi-aggressive fish.
Goldfish are cold water, community fish.

Your pleco will eat the slime coat of your Goldie's and they will get sick. If you see him chasing them around a bit- that is whats going on.

Goldfish need at least ten gallons per fish. So for just the you need 20 gallons. Your pleco gets to be enormous. Normally the end up in 75 gallon tanks with cichlids.

Your tank is bug enough for 1 betta or maybe 3 danios.

Well, since a 4 litre is pretty small (barely over 1 US gallon), the pleco will outgrow it QUICKLY. Most fish and other creatures stop growing if their space is limited; plecos are one of the exceptions.

the female will commonly have a fuller abdomen. in case you view the fish from above the aquarium, the female will be fatter on one facet of her body than the different. (A male fish has a tendency to have a extra even structure even as seen from above). in case you seem heavily, the male goldfish will enhance tiny tubicules (Little white dots that appear like tiny pimples) on the gill covers, and alongside the front fringe of the front fins.
