Absolutely!!! I suppose sometimes they are almost the same... If I'm playing raquetball, and I'm "in the zone", then I am "zoning out" everything but my game, yes? The same could be said about Chess... In the zone would seem to be zoned out because of intense concentration to the exclusion of all else... (good enough?) Or, if you are meditating, you are zoning out in a manner of speaking, emptying your mind, and therefore, if you zone out well, you'd be in the zone... yes? c'mon -- i'm really trying here... lol take care. good question, btw...

To "Zone out" is when you daydream without paying attention to anything or anyone around you.
To be "In the zone" is when you're on a roll, which involves concentration.
So, no, you can't be both at the same time.

Goth Princess knows that of which she speaks....I'm betting she's an Indica fan, too. :) Get the right Indica/Sativa ratio and you can be zoned one second and right back in the zone when it is called for. Straight Indica is good for a more
"cerebral", functioning high as well.
