yes it does...1650 (±75) °C is the melting point......just go onto Wikipedia and type in does quartz melt...sorry didn't copy and paste everything but you DID just ask if it melted wasn't that the only thing you asked?

QUARTZ IS BASICALLY SILICA, LIKE GLASS. EVIDENTLY, QUARTZ ALSO MELTS. BUT DUE TO THE HIGHLY PERFECT CRYATALLINE STRUCTURE, THE MELTING POINT IS VERY HIGH.
