federer proved at winbledon that he is the best on grass as nadal proved in the french open that he is the best on clay so totaly different but both extraordinary players as for federer he can still play a good period of years from now on,maybe 5 or 6 in his best shape, still brilliant final indeed

I like them both, Federer played a great match, and held his composure, he won the first set so easily 6-0 in 24 minutes, but Nadal really made it a contest losing the second set, just barely 7-6. and then he won the 3rd set 7-6, but he ran out of gas in the fourth, and Federer won his 4th straight Wimbledon. Nadal has now proven that he can play on grass, he beat Federer earlier this year in Dubai, and that was on a hard-court, so Nadal CAN play on any surface, not just clay. I'm very proud of Nadal's effort, and he will be a tough customer to deal with at Wimbledon for years to come.
If Federer is healthy, he could play for another 7-8 years easy. He's only 24 years old.

I am very pleased that Federer won. It's great to see his record setting grass-court streak capped with a fourth straight Wimbledon title. It was also great to see him get the monkey off his back and beat Nadal. The losing streak was getting out of control. It was also starting to raise questions over the legitimacy of his #1 ranking. So, all in all, great to see him win.
Of the two, I prefer Federer. Nadal is more animated, but Federer's more varied game makes him better to watch. Full credit to Rafa for being so gracious in defeat. Classy stuff.
As far as how long Federer should keep playing, injuries aside, it just depends on his level of play and motivation. When he starts losing more frequently, and not putting himself in the running for majors, that would be a good time to go. It would be hard for a great champion to feel all that enthusiastic about a couple of Grand Slam quater-finals here and there. He won't want to be remembered as the sad old guy who played way past his prime.
Until then, we have plenty more great matches to enjoy, and maybe a fantastic rivalry as well.

I love that Federer won! I wasnt pulling for him all that much when he played Roddick a few years ago, but I wanted him to beat Nadal soo badly!! He had only won against him 1 other time and the 2nd time just happened to be Wimbledon finals!!

I am THRILLEEEEEEEEEEEEED that he won. He deserves it.He's truly the master of grass. He plays magnificent tennis and he is one of the best players ever. Oh and I totally prefer Federer because Nadal can only play GRATE on clay but Federer plays brilliantly on any surface.
