Can you really make good money being a medical transcriptionist?

Well let's just say you're not gonna' get rich. You can make enough to make ends meet or bring in some extra income. You may even be able to do the work at home. Years ago I worked for such a company that hired private contractors who worked out of their homes to transcribe medical dictation into the various medical reports (histories, consults, etc.) I would drop the tapes at their homes and collect them and the reports the next day. Each transcriptionist got paid either by the page or by the line so the more you typed the more you made. It was good work for those gals that had little ones in school during the day.

I do medical transciption at home and make between 500-700 a week. So, I would say that is pretty good
