I lean towards the conservative side. I have worked all me life. I have NEVER asked for a handout from anyone, yet daily I see people standing on street corners crying "poor poor me". One actually got into a not too old car parked in the parking lot adjacent to "his corner". All I see from libs are "give me more welfare...foodstamps....state aid" etc. Conservatives I know pick themselves up by their bootstraps and get a job or work harder(second even third jobs) to make ends meet. Contrary to Mr. playtoofast, teachers (of which I am one) police, firemen military and those who work other gov. jobs WORK....yes WORK for a living. I put in more hours a day teaching, grading papers, making daily lesson plans, not to mention hours on the phone with parents, than I'll bet PTF ever has in a single day. Another typical liberal......give me... give me... give me. BTW...I am far from rich. Teachers salaries in my state are only $22,000 per year. What a low cost for someone educating our future.

I've noticed that you distinguish yourself from 'liberals' so much that you seem to think you are some kind of different, and superior race or something. And if you think that every liberal believes that success is a handout, then you need to get a reality check. I excepted better from a highly educated person such as yourself. And based on your other questions, you seem pretty closed-minded about other viewpoints. Good job, for being a sheep yourself...spewing the conservative dogma as if it's irrefutable fact.
I noticed you didn't have any sources either, so where do you get off accusing others of not listing sources? All you do is go on and on about how liberals cause all the problems and don't take any responsibility for your own party's failings!

Okay, I hate this generalization:
Conservatives are rich and vote whenever they want.
Liberals actually have to work and watch what they spend. They have to vote at night after work which cuts into their family time.
All Conservatives aren't rich. I'm a Conservative Republican and I'm a middle-class citizen. Liberals just want to be given everything by crying about it. They think that if they make a big enough deal out of something, that they'll get what they want. The rich only get richer because they work for what they've got and they're living the American Dream. They shouldn't be taxed more than any other person. They give more to charities than any other middle-class citizen so they're working to give some of it away. Therefore, they really keep less of their salary then a middle-class citizen.
Anyway, I hope that answers your question.

I don't know any liberals that think like this. I am glad I have not ever met any that do. Most people that I know believe that you have to work for a living and work hard if you want to have success and in the meantime, while working hard and gettingi all this success - the people I know, reach back and help others along the way. I don't consider myself a liberal, but I do believe I am free in the Lord and because of the talents and gifts he has given to me, I have an obligation to help others . That is why I teach. It is not a job that I can get rich on. It is a calling upon my life to guide the young ones and provide love and support. I hope that you will meet more people who are helpful and gracious for the things they have and are not gripers and envious. Best wishes to you.

You my friend are a ranter. You bash Liberals as if they were terrorists. There are as many people with money who are Liberals as there are Rep. Cons. The difference is that the Liberals at least try to help other people. The Rep don't care about anything but what's in their pockets. And that is not all inclusive on either side. I don't paint everybody with the same brush. Since the religious right and the so called Christians have taken over the government, this country has gone down the drain. And the fact the GWB pandered to the right( You honestly don't believe he is a real Christian do you?) so that you voted for him. You think you run the country. We are as American as you and your type will ever be. I love my country, I support the troops, but you know what? I am beginning to dislike intensely the attitude of people who think dissension is the way to run this country.----------God weeps---

There isn't a liberal alive who thinks that success is a handout.
Liberals brought us The Peace Corp, the Civil Rights Act of 1964,
The Equal Rights Amendment, scholarships and low-cost interest loans for college tuition.
It was liberals who fought and finally repealed Jim Crow laws, wrote laws that forbid discrimination in hiring and all forms of harassment in the workplace.
People who have been brainwashed into believing that everything ever said by a liberal is evil are focusing themselves solely on the extremely small minority of welfare cheats and ignoring how much better off they themselves are.
As a matter of fact, corporate welfare costs billions more than individual welfare ever did or ever will.
The people who have convinced you that all of your problems have been caused by liberals have eroded all of the laws that liberals passed to make the people of this country truly equal and have all but destroyed the constitution in the process by distracting you with non-issues, such as abortion, flag burning and gay marriage.
Under conservatives, prices go up, but wages and benefits are going down, if not disappearing altogether. The president himself said that the United States is an ownership society. His father said, during his presidency, that he wasn't sure that people that don't believe in god have any rights.
An ownership society is a catchphrase meaning slavery.
People who don't believe in god do have rights.
The real problem is that the conservatives have planted the seeds of hate, hostility, contempt and stereotypes into over fifty percent of the population, and reasoning with people who possess those traits are impossible to reason with in any intelligent or meaningful way.

First, let me educate you on the difference between "rich" an "wealthy." People like the Bushes and the Kennedys are wealthy. They have no time for the mearly "rich", who often come into money, and then blow it.
In the United States, the law is supposed to apply to everyone. Why is it then, that very often, the wealthy are given a different standard? A poor man can steal a VCR and go to jail for 25 years, yet a wealthy man can steal 20 million dollars and not serve any jail time at all.
A few years ago, if I tried to walk into Represenative Delay's office, I would be escorted out by security..... unless, that is, I was wealthy and could make a substantial "donation" to the Republican party. Then, Represenative Delay would have all the time in the world for me....even give me a personal tour of our Capitol. Why do the wealthy get represenation in government, but I don't?
Everyone who lives in the United States has a duty as a citizen that in order to provide funds for the nation, each one who has income must pay a tax on that income. Why is it that the wealthiest among us, who could easily afford to pay only what is their fair share, will lie, cheat, "bend the rules", bribe, and break the law in order to get out of paying their fair share. If an "ordinary" taxpayer gets caught "bending the rules", their lives are usually ruined forever. A wealthy person gets caught? A slap on the wrist and a stern warning is in order.
The "American Dream" is a lie. It's there to keep you busy, and to keep you from thinking for yourself too much. You and I will never be wealthy.... the deck will always be stacked in their favor until we realize that the true power of the United States does lie in it's people. Once the people unite against the wealthy and the multi-national corporations that have bought and paid for this government, the possibility of a level playing field, where the phrase "that all men are created equal" will become fact.

I am proud top call myself a liberal and I work hard for every dime I earn. I know some people who's grandfathers were a multi-millionaires and they have never worked a day in their lives. If you earn it it's yours, plain and simple. On the other hand if you are Ken Lay and screw millions of people to get rich or a CEO that pay's yourself $10 million a year and you fire 5,000 people and send jobs to China so you can then F you. You're no patriot, rich or poor.

Why are republicans so selfish and greedy. It isn't that we want to support those who are too lazy to work but to help those who are trying but just not having any luck. I'm lucky enough to still have a job right now but I know a couple of people who are educated and looking for jobs but haven't been able to get one. There's already a ton of ex Wall Street workers at Target, WalMart, and McD's so what's left. It's too bad we didn't all go to school to be a doctor to guarantee we will always have a job. Ladybug said it all!!!!

If they didn't take that platform, they wouldn't get any votes at all. Why do you think they get most of the poor votes in poor counties? They don't care about rich or poor, it's all about votes. They prey on the minds of the citizens of this country. Sorry if I worked hard all of my life and became educated so I can see through their lies and smokescreens. As far as the outsourcing of jobs go, ask Bill Clinton about that since he was the one who signed the NAFTA agreement. Get a clue. That only opened our country up to more international competition. Sorry liberals, you did that!
