Yes.

If you are not already in check then it would be a stupid move for you to make. You cannot move into check.

Assuming the opponent has already put you in check then you must resolve this situation. If you cannot resolve it then you have lost.

The final blow can come from an opponent's piece that would, had it not been the end of the game, have put himself into check. That doesn't matter since he has won and you have lost. You don't get another turn to strike back at his king.

No. Your opponent cannot make a move that will put his king into check. You move next and would take his king, ending the game.
Checkmate is merely a technicality. What actually happens is that the king is moved and then taken, but the rules state when the king cannot move without being taken the game ends.

Yes... from your questioning. I would assume that he has you in check, already. Then you move a piece that would take his king if he moves the piece that has you in check.

The game ends when he takes your king. Doesn't matter if he is exposing his king. The game ended already.

no. if he is in check, the only place he can go is somewhere to protect the king unless he is stupid enuff to lose
