Re: Anywhere in the suburbs. It's all pretty much the same and it's growing very fast. Just stay out of downtown Atlanta; that's where the slums are. Get as far away as you can from downtown while still being able to commute.
Do not follow this advice.
Downtown is not where slums live (whatever a slum is, because that's not even ATL talk). Downtown is an excellent place to live if your planning on living in the inner city just like any other city such as los angeles, chicago, memphis, new orleans, philly, new york, detroit ect. Yes, a majority of the city is black, many hispanics, and few whites, but that doesn't make it a bad city at all. The worst thing I recommend is to just watch out for any fowl play maybe carry around mace or a small pocket knife because people will try to jack you, but no one will mess with you as long as you don't stare at people or say the wrong thing just like any other city or town and also, there are a number of crackheads down there just like in any other inner city, they may ask for money or pretend to be mute but just ignore them and if you are willing to give them money buy them something instead of giving the cash or change. It is no diffrent from any other city I named, just diffrent accents and dialects at the most. It has wonderful attraction sights, wonderful businesses, and many legendary areas. As a matter of fact, I certainly recommend moving downtown or atleast in the areas around downtown eastside, westside, northside or south atlanta its all beautifal and diffrent. It may not be as cheap as the suburbs since it is an inner city but its well worth the stay. Take it from someone whose lived their all their life.

It relies upon on what section you attempt to bypass in Atlanta (or the position you're leaving from)...in spite of the indisputable fact that it takes about an hour and a 0.5 without site visitors. Atlanta everyday has distinctive site visitors (before 8 and after 4) so as that ought to improve the time it takes to get between both cities.
