Or can't you ? My son (13) is driving me nuts... like I'm suppose to know! Help!!

yep, psp video 9 works well, I think even Nero has a setting for this.

oh and you will need the transfer cable, its cheep like $7 or less

First you need to set your PSP to USB connection mode under the Setting menu. Then plug it in with a PSP USB Cable, which is different from other USB Cables. Windows XP should automatically recognize it as being connected and you can access it like a floppy/hard drive.

Or if you have a memory card read you can just take your memory card out of your PSP and put it in your computers memory card reader.

It has to be in MP4 or possibly AVI format. You can go to http://www.downloads.com to find free PSP Video Converters.
