The tips went brown first and gradually spread to the whole leaf. The tips on every leaf also look damaged. Is the cordyline diseased or is it just because the lower leaves don`t have enough light?

Don't worry - it is normal for the bottom leaves to go brown.

Gently take off the brown leaves and you'll see a wonderful trunk appearing.

You only need to worry if no new leaves appear at the top.
