...Gee, I dunno. It could have something to do with having given up their independence, sleep, freedom, money, time, unabashed sex life, energy, personal goals, and sanity for 21 years to raise their kids. Perhaps they just want to have their life as adults back before they bite the dust. After all, in most states, you're an adult at 18.

So, now that your parents have spent 21 years raising you, what are you going to do for your parents for the next 21 years?

Imagine someone taking almost all of your money, time, attention, and aggrivation for 21 years! That's a very long time! At this age you should usually be able to take care of yourself. Not everyone can though. See, in today's society "kids" (the 18 year old kind), still hang on to their parents, expecting them to still do most everything for them, but they seriously do not have to. Parents...don't spoil your kids! This is what will happen when they're 21!
You should find a way to take care of yourself and still be a part of your parents' lives.

Because after 21 years under the wings of their parents the child SHOULD be able to take care of themselves. That is what they have been doing all that time, teaching you the fundamentals of survival. You get a job and your own place, right, then you should be able to sustain yourself for food. Can't cook? Well who's fault is that? Didn't you pay attention to your Mom or in Home Ec.? We have 24 hr. fast food joints for Pete's sake. Besides hasn't your Mom done enough? She's been on duty for 21 years.

Because by the age of 21 you should be out of school have a job, your legally responsible for yourself and it's time to go. I moved out of my parents house at 17 (my choice) and was greatful! I had a job, was going to school, had my independence and besides that my parents did not raise a fool. I could take care of myself.

Because by law parents dont have to when their children are at 18 years old because by law by the time you reach 18 the law expects you to be able to take care of yourself also by than the parents are not supose to be responsible for you anymore

LOL, unusual complaint you have there, usually people are complaining because their parents are still trying to take care of then, not the other way around

because at 21 their not children and should be able to care for them self unless something prevents them from doing so, like they have no legs.

Wanting you to take some responsibility and gain independence, some parents seem to take it to extremes and disown them completely.

Its the healthiest gift your parents can give you.....freedom to be an adult,an individual,a contributor to society. They will always be your parents, and we all love to go home....but thats for visits, not for life.
