I am a strong believer in balance. The more you look for the bad the more bad you will see, and vica versa. But in the same light the more pain you feel the more joy you are able to get out of life.
A short example is this:
You break your heart with some one you love. you find someone else you love. You know what it is to have lost a love and now that you have found another you can feel that love more than you could have with the first. Just because you can recognize what it is that you truly have.

not really. it is still there but the media we see reflects on the bad more than the good. a specific case is Iraq. you see the horror and the bloodshed but not the schools and hospitals that are now running. the same thing happened in Vietnam. in both cases 90% of the stories come out of 2% of the area.

No, there was always violence and crime, we are just more well informed now than in previous ages due to the media. It's shocking that we consider our society to be so civilized when we just have indoor plumbing and technology but people die every day at the hands of others.

no,it is just that the media focuses on the negative-we do not hear about the good things. Mind you people may not seem as courteous as in generations past buit every generation says that about earlier generations

yes it is, everyday we are learning and discovering new things, now we hardly discover good things. I'm only 13, and I already know the A-Z on sex, it's just abnormal.
