age and location has no effect on how long it will take.

hmm what state, are you serious. Manchester, UK is not in america

All depends on how good this person is at driving

In the UK when you send away to get your first provisional licence it takes about 3 weeks to come back, you can do this as soon as you turn 17.

Then you have the driving lessons, of which people take an average of about 20-30 lessons in which inbetween you do your therory test, where you have to get over 30 out of 35 and the hazard awareness test which is a new one. When it then comes to the driving test, that takes an hour to do but have to book it quite in advanced in some places due to waiting lists/booked up.

Then you have to send your provisional licence away to change into a real licence if you pass which takes another 3 weeksish.

So all in all the whole process can take 6 - 8 months or more if you fail your tests.

If you are are a min age of 17 apply for a provisional licence - get the form, send it off by first class recorded, write a letter you need it ASAP - all by tomorrow. Your provisional licence - is a photo ID - make sure you fill in the form correctly with correct fee etc. No idea how will it takes cause I don't work in the Driver's department of DVLA.

You don't need a passport to go to Ireland if you are English. And what do you mean, "how long will it take to get driving licence"? Can you drive, have you passed your test, have you had lessons, how old are you, etc..etc..etc.....silly question.

It depends on what state you are in. Usually like here in Arkansas you take a written test for your learners permit then thirty days later you can take the divers test for you drivers permit then in six months if you are 16 you can exchange the permit for a license
