For some time now, I've planning on travelling to Kamakura, Japan - it has prompted me to learn the language (going quite well, as of now), and get a feel for some of Japan's culture through friends and other various things. I probably have about three to four more years to go before I visit, but good things come to those who wait, no?

So, I was wondering about Kamakura. What is the weather like during different parts of the year? Does it snow (I figure no, since it's heading south and near the coast, but it doesn't hurt to ask)? Also, during what seasons is the city most empty?

I don't plan on travelling during any of Japan's holidays (not the busy ones, anyways), so if there are any other spots one might recommend when travelling across Japan (planning on staying a month or so), please feel free to enlighten me!

Thanks for the assistance.

Kamakura is awesome you'll love it.

Like someone already said make sure to ride Enoden.
And winter (Nov - Mar) would be a time you should pass off.
Kamakura is best when it is warm.

it snows (normally) once or twice a year, likely to be Feb or
March (but rarely Apr also possible). All other months, it's
mild climate.
Enoden (trolly from Fujisawa to Kamakura and then Enoshima)
and Monorail (from Ofuna to Enoshima) are fun to ride, from
my experinces.

I like Aizu-Wakamatsu myself. It's got some seriously good Japanese "atmosphere". Yamadera is another underatted spot.
