believe it or not this is natural due to a change in the pigment that gave it the golden colour I have two in my pond that are changing as well and I got worried as I have koi as well but various checks and tests proved that there ws nothing wrong with them (they started out black as babies)

Wow...what a load of wonderful answers...and by wonderful I mean not so good, and by answers i mean hardly worth reading!
I appologize to all those who just reported me for abuse, but some of those were sad!
First off...Depending on what TYPE of goldfish you have will affect the answer.
Comet Goldfish (or feeder fish) will turn white without enough light, because these fish are just, not made to last
Oranda's, Ryuken's, Telescope's, etc. WILL NOT turn white simply because they don't have enough light!!!!
They can turn white for two reasons. First is that its natural for Fancy Goldfish to change colors. It happens, deal with it!
The second is that the fish is sick. Wether due to parasites or just plain stressed out the fish has a problem. If you've recently moved the fish to another tank or added fish, then add some stress coat to the water and you'll be fine. If the temperature is too high then fix it and the fish will be fine. If the fish is sick...Please don't listen to other people who say to bag up your fish and take them to the petstore...this will only make it worse!!!!
I was an Aquatics Specialist dealing with all sorts of stupid fish...The first thing we were told to tell a customer that wants to bring their fish in is "NO" because that'll just stress it out even more.
Do yourself and your fish a favor...Goto Petsmart.com or Petco.com, and find the number for a local store...and call and ask them if they have any recommendations based on your specific type of goldfish.

No its not, this has two possibilities.
The first is that your fish are not getting enough light in the tank. Without any light the fish will no longer develope the pigmentation in their scales and turn white. They take different times to do this, which is why one fish has not changed color yet.
the second is a parasitic infection. If the entire fish is white it should already be dead if this is true. They lose color becuase the parasites drink a lot of their blood. It is likely both fish would be white, or have white spots on them.
Please take your fish to a fish shop. the best way to do this is get a fish bag, the fish store will supply this free of charge and teach how to use it.
The fish store will be able to diagnose which of the two are the likely problem and offer a solution, please take them to the fish store, you would take a dog or cat to a vet if they lost their fur right?

I don't know anymore. Some people ask such stupid questions here (not immediate referring to you of course) that it could be the water having dried out (if you've put them in water at all after you bought them). Or, maybe it was not a goldfish at all.
Even so, goldfish can get sun-burned if they doen't have a place where they can hide (they turn white then), at the same time the water needs sun.

It's a light response. When you put a goldfish in a dark room it will turn white.

Rapi color loss can be a symptom of stress. It's most frequently observed in recently transferred fish. Rapid changes in temperature may also cause stress to your fish.
