I moved from a vague collection of political opinions to really having a defined view point when I realized that my opinions, or lack there of, could one day, shape my children's future. And then, I moved from apathy to action when I realized that people were dying everyday, and me sitting on my butt at home was lending to their deaths. I know I can't save the world, but I'll be damned if I don't do anything to make it better!
Excellent question!

I moved from political ignorance to awareness when I decided that I wanted to know what is going on in the world and now I am reading an excellent book by William Ebenstein, Great Political Thinkers. Your second question I will have to answer at a later time.

From ignorance to awareness was a gradual transition but peaked out with the ineptness in Vietnam, when the government could see but refused to accept reality. As the ignorance dwindled, so the awareness grew but also the same from apathy to be active so far as I could....I am an American but living in another country but it doesn't prevent me from assaulting people with emails to push valid ideas on others. We have seen too many plans that have been fostered off on Americans because of apathy.

I was awakened by the death and destruction going on in this world particularly troubled by all the death and may hem going on in Iraq without any sensible solution except to "stay the wrongful course" and I decided that enough is enough. If any thing can be done about this it is up to me to do all that I can to try to convince the people to pressure the Bush administration to end this misguided international action of war, aggression and continued occupation of Iraq.
