My next door neighbors are Naturalized Citizens from Fiji. When those women get dressed up for a wedding or some other special occasion, it really is spectacular. Sarda must have 20 different ones and each one is more attractive than the last. I consider myself privileged to be considered part of the family. I get invitations to all sorts of gathering and I attend a lot of them. All the Indian women dress up in an attempt to outdo each other, and I always win. It is a real feast for the eyes.
To be fair though, there are a lot of cultures with beautiful costumes for the women. Mexico and Spain come to mind as well as Viet Nam and Thailand. Iceland is another place with attractive outfits, or maybe I just thought the women were beautiful. When you spend 22 years in the US Air Force you can see a lot if you open your eyes.

I think they are beautiful. The texture and design of sarees are so gorgeous, I wish I had one. They should be saved for special occasions though, don't just wear one everyday if you don't live in India. But yeah, I think they are absolutely beautiful :)

I love wearing them, but they need a little practice before you wear one out. If you accidentally step on the bottom of your skirt as you're walking, the whole thing can end up on the floor while you're standing there in your blouse and petticoat. So, don't try to wear one without having someone experienced help you put it on and show you how to walk in it.

They are beautifull and exotic, and I have no problem with women wearing them as long as they are wearing them by choice and not because their parents/husbands are insisting on it.
