I am divorced, I have three children. The oldest is of driving age. His father is under the impression that all of the kids expenses are my responsibility including gas money, mobile phones, spending money, extra curricular activities...everything. What is the legal description? I have not been able to find a clear answer online.

According to the below Florida Child Support website, child support is for the child's living expenses and insurance. living expenses are defined by the IRS as food, shelter, clothing and other necessary expenses. So gas money, cell phones, and other items like that are not considered necessary. I would look at how your support agreement is figured. In Kansas they base it on both parent's total income to determine the lifestyle the person should live so the support already covers extras. You may be stuck depending on how the state figures it.

child support is to go for any expense with the kids food clothes, school ect. yet both parents are responsible for the well being. ir your kid drives then make him/ her cover there gas and fun. he/she cab work at a store or food place

Child support is set by the court. If you need more then you have to go to court.
