Well BET is a lot shorter than AAET and I guess since most people are used to reffering to the term black instead of African American, they decided to go with Black Entertainment Television.

African American is politically correct but not all "Black" people are African Americans, like im part West Indian, so AA doesnt necessary apply to me or everyone. There are just plain africans, people of island decent, and mixed. So again BET=Black Entertainment Television is politically correct for the situation, since it incorporates all black people.

My Ex was a black woman, and to be called black is preferred according to her. Think about it the "N" word is down right offensive and disrespectful, and African American in some way patronizes a person. At least this is what I've been told.

When BET started, people weren't as politically correct.
I don't mind it being called Black Entertainment Television.

Well they refer to the watchers as black because not all blacks are black people from america. They say black because it refers to black americans, africans, jamaicans, and so forth. So thats why they should stick with BET.

why would it be wrong if there was a WET? white entertainment television? all the blacks would be mad and say its racist wtf? but black ent. tv. isnt? i think it is, also they dont call it aaet becuz not all blacks are from africa. there from jamaica, south america a eygpt and all around there so thats why
