Which has been around longer? The egg. Chickens came along much later in the evolutionary scheme of things. Reptiles were laying eggs way before Colonel Sanders' first ancestor walked on two legs.

The chicken! Gen. 1:25 mentions only living things, not eggs. And if you are interested, God created the food sources before He created the creatures. You will find that in Gen. 1:11-12.

I say God came first and most likely created the chicken and the rooster first. Kind of like adam and eve. he made them to reproduce. or if you want to go with evolution then it was the chicken that formed from some slimmy thing in the ocean. So I am All for the chicken came first.

I'll hit this one up,...........I'll answer it w/ a question. How could an egg lay, set, and hatch itself? Even if your religious you have to admit that it is impossible for an egg of any kind to hatch w/out the heat it takes to survive. Another religion related comment: Why would God create an egg instead of a chicken if he created all other animals mature.

Someone's already said it, but, the egg obviously. A chicken is a bird. There is strong evidence that birds evolved from dinosaurs. Dinosaurs layed eggs. Therefore the egg came first. QED

This question bugs me because it is so easily answered. The egg came first. Dinosaurs were laying eggs long before there were chickens.

Chicken. God created animals first. Also, the chicken has to sit on the egg to keep it warm and save it from dying.

The Chicken. There couldn't be an egg without a chicken and there couldn't be a chicken that didn't hatch from an egg without god.
