Perhaps it's because many women do less work than men. In my 17 years of work experience with various companies, I have found that women do more talking than working. They will spend more time planning a co-workers birthday party than doing their jobs.
There are some women that do the same amount of work, if not more than their male counterparts; unfortunatly, those women only comprise about 20% of the female work population. As a result of the bad apples(80%), the good apples(20%) suffer.

I have illegal foreigners (no offense if I cause any) getting hired at my job making more money than I do now and ummm... well they are men. I have more experience. I do my job and I have picked up additional duties and I still do not get more money. I have been promised like 3 or 4 raises and got 1 $.25 raise in over 2 years. It is pretty frustrating. I have an associates degree and my husband has an associates degree and he gets $4 more than me an hour. Of course my line of work is with a scrap yard... so men are going to get more. I have actually heard a CFO state that a woman's job is to take money and it is only degrading for a man to have to do that. But I cannot explain it. It still goes on... my mom dealt with it. She went from a secretary, who dealt with harrassment, etc... back in the 70's to becoming a purchasing manager for a huge company making more than most men!! It can be overcame! Get in there and fight for your position and respect... then when you become a big wig... fire the jerks who tried to hold you back! One day I am going to finish my degree and hopefully become an entrepreneur so I don't have to kiss butt to people like that. Just my 2 cents and sorry for any offense given or the hostility... I pretty much hate my job, but it is almost impossible these days to be a woman, with just an associates degree and get a job that is not selling, customer service or a secretary :) So my goal is to go back to school when we get more comfortable financially.

Ummm....They dont! The wage gap has narrowed to less than 2% in the USA IF you compare ACTUAL work histories. Most women earn less money because they work less at their jobs and take time to raise a family. This is why in America the average man works 48 hours a week and the average woman works 37 hours a week at their place of employment.

because even if the women are more capable of doing a men's job, men feel insecure when a women can dominate the working world. men feel inferior when the women gets paid more then man

The answer is that they don't. You need to do some research. I work at a big company and half of the senior management at my company is female and get paid the same as their male counterparts.

Discrimination. Still people think women can`t cope up with men. Though the creator made man and woman equal, woman seems to developed in her sentiments and emotions when man developed in his skills, power.

It's not just this year.It's every year...
Thing is that the man who is signing the checks is jealous that there are women out there and in his employ who are smarter than he.And said woman could most likely run the company or any company more efficiently than he does...
