Help, I can't seem to get onto my d-link page to configure my wireless settings. It gets stuck at the login pop-up box where you type in admin and click ok.....then nothing.

things I have tried already,
resetting the router
ipconfig
pinging the router...it is working fine
checking thegateway default matches the 192.168.0.1 address , it does
turning off firewalls.

any other suggestions of what I could try?
my IP is sympatico and they do not offer support for d-link routers so I can't ask them....

thanks in advance

D-link online support is of no help. and phone in help is not available where I live on the weekend...grrr

Many possibilities have been touched on in here. A lot of those were answered in your question already. If you are using Internet explorer, there shouldn't be an issue with the pop up not coming up. Unless you have some third party pop up blocker on. Regardless of what browser you are using, turn off any pop up blocker you are using. That should get you logged in. When you said you reset the router I assume you meant you defaulted it by holding in the reset button on the back, and plugging in the power while you held it in. That action will default to the factory settings as though new out of the box.
EDIT: Since you have added some information, and still don't have this resolved. Let me say this to you. I have a Belkin Router in this network. My Wife's XP system has the same issue. I can get in with my Linux system like the breeze. You can use Linux yourself, on your computer, without installing a thing!. No disturbing your system or hard drive. There is a "live" Linux version called Knoppix. It's available for free download. You download it, burn it to a CD, put the CD in your drive, boot your computer, and Voila! You're running Linux! Linux is incredibly adept at finding and configuring network connections, and devices. It wouldn't be fair to give you all this information without telling where to find the software. http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html
Find the link to the public mirrors. You can download for free from any of them. But some may be much faster than others. Hope this is helpful.

stuff you have probably already done...

Put the IP of your PC to 192.168.0.2

Try turning off the router and your PC. Turn on the Router and then the PC.

Read the manual.

Take the router to a friends house and see if you can get to the admin page from their machine. This should eliminate whether there is a problem with the router.

192.168.0.1, which is the address of the router will be the internal network IP for the router.

This is different to the external IP address your ISP will assign to you, once you get it sorted.

Good luck!!

Typing 192.168.0.1 in a web browser should bring up the login prompt. username=admin
password=return(don't enter anything,press return)
This should get you in-if not reset router to default setting by unplugging and holding in the reset button for a minute.

hmm, check your internet explorer security settings, pop up blockers, external software, etc...

also not sure if you are connecting with a wire or wireless, if you are wireless try connecting with cat5 cable.

oh and the guy who posted above doesn't realize that 192.168 network is a spoofed (internal only) ip address.......duh
