it depends on the state that you are in. In Georgia class D license stands for any vehicle not included in class A, B, or M. You can tow a trailer 10,000 pounds or less. you can't operate the vehicle between 12:00 midnight and 6:00 A.M.

A class D license in Mississippi is a commercial license that allows you to drive commercial vehicles that do not require a class A, or B license.
You have to have one to drive a delivery truck for example.
