They do not understand these people or what they are trying to do for the common people in the county. I remember the same sort of hate campaign against Martin Luther King. It is to bad that they cannot see that you lift from the bottom because if you only lift from the top that is all that moves.

Because for the most part these so called civil rights leaders are more trying to keep the minority down than trying to help them. They all attached Bill Cosby when he said that the best thing for the blacks to do is to help each other out of their situation instead of complaining that the government is against them. Have people not learned that the Liberals does not give a darn about the blacks and the poor and that the Conservatives only care about those who help themselves? If you stop being a victim, than you can do great things. Why do the civil rights leaders condemn successful minorities instead of using them as positive role models?

Conservatives in general do not go after civil rights leaders. In fact, it was the Republicans who freed the slaves and passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964. So they have a long history of championing minorities.

Now, as far as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, have you bothered to actually look at their actions? If I was a minority, I wouldn't want these two representing me. But if minorities do want those guys representing them, that's fine. Personally, I believe in civil rights, but I do not believe in Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton.

I believe conservatives go after civil rights leaders and others who support them because they are liberals. The liberals want to spend tax dollars on people they believe need it the most and don't mind raising taxes to accomplish their goals. Conservatives, on the other hand don't want to tax anymore than is necessary to run the country and because of decades of escalating welfare costs and the burden illegal immigration is causing on our system and tax dollars they are determined more than ever to stop the bleeding at the source. One of the problems is that liberals and conservatives use to be defined by political party. But, not any longer. For example, liberal senators from both parties want to allow more immigration and want to legalize the millions of illegals that are already here at a tremendous cost to the tax payers. The scary thing about the senate passing their bill on immigration is that most if not all didn't even read it before they voted on it. It is said that the costs involved with the passing of the bill are astronomical if not impossible to come up with. One thing for sure, it will take many more tax hikes to even come close to paying for it. Much more to be said and discussed on this subject. Hopefully it will work out for the best for all of us but, I won't hold my breath.

Jesse Jackson - Jesse shakes companies down for " donation " with threats of boycotts and protest and worse if they don't pay him. That's blackmail and alot of people have a problem with it.

Al Sharpton..I like Rev Al, he is entertaining, but as far as seriousness goes, he was the one who blasted and ruined NYC cops reputations with his defense of twana brawley (cant remember how her name is spelled). She lied about being raped and even after she admitted she lied, he still backed her up and destroyed some good cops. Alot of people cant get by that since to this day he wont apologize.
