I just finished this same problem. I prayed everyday and asked God to have mercy on me, I knew I was being punished for some things I did in the past but I asked for forgiveness and prayed and thanked God for my blessings cuz it could be worse and slowly but surely as I began learning the lessons in all the bad luck my life has improved :) Ill pray for you too :)

It isn't bad luck as much as it is your paying attention to the negative things that are happening to you. Such things tend to have a knock-on effect: if you start your day out on the wrong footing, say you get up late, burn your breakfast, get stuck in traffic, etc, that tends to effect your attitude for the rest of the day.

To break this habit, you need to start reorienting your attitude. Instead of thinking about the bad things that are happening, consider instead the bad things that are -not- happening to you, and amplify that into also considering the -good- things that are happening to you as often, or more often than the bad things.

Consider the basics- even the totally down to earth basics- to get started:

You're housed and fed.
You have electricity and an internet connection.
You have a working computer that enables you to get on this site and ask questions
People will actually -answer- your question (although they might razz your spelling)
You might learn something new about yourself and gain some coping skills.

All you really have to do is refocus your attention and adjust your attitude. A great philospher once said that things aren't bad, it's just the way we think about them.

You start by paying attention to what is going on around you and your life, and you look to eliminate those things that are causing unneeded distractions. Doing badly in school is NOT about luck, it is about attention, hard work and effort. YOU control these, not "luck", not "curses"! if you are doing badly in school it is YOUR FAULT, and no one else's. Given this mixture of non-specific complaints, my guess is that you are feeling sorry for yourself through teenage angst, feeling bored, and are looking for distractions to keep you "happy". You are focusing on distractions, and the REAL world is throwing sh*t at you because you are too lazy to put up a defense! That is not "bad luck", that is being personally irresponsible, inattentive, and just plain ignorant. GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR *** AND BACK INTO THE SCHOOL BOOKS!. Your Number One Job right now is to PASS THOSE CLASSES. This extends for the next 5-10 years as you finish the lower grades, proceed through university, and begin a useful career. There is NO SUCH THING AS LUCK!! What happens to you is caused by and controlled by YOU. Your "bad luck" is not from some unknown source of chance, but due to your own laziness and focus on unproductive actions. Drop the sh*t in your life that is causing problems -- video games, smoking, alcohol, bad friends, WHATEVER it is in your life. Set your goals to get good grades, get through university, and get a career.

The only way to truly have less bad luck is to put yourself in positions where only good can come. Lowering expectations can do this.
For eg if you go out for a night out, and presume you are going to get lucky and then you don't then that can be deemed to be bad luck and can cause mental torture.
On the other hand if you go out just thinking you are going out, nothing more, then you wont be left dissapointed if nothing happens, and if it does then that can be deemed good luck.

It is all relative and good luck is a by product of having lower expectations on what one wants to achieve.

You need to try and think positive, if you expect bad things to happen then they will. Try and put a brave face on and smile through it, think of something (anything) good that came out of the situation. I dont beleive bad luck haunts people i think they just get so used to focusing on the bad that they forget any of the good. Its typical human behaviour and often becomes habit. Im not saying bad things will never happen just dont dwell on it and try and be happy. xx

Sometimes things don't go as well as you would like them to but it doesn't make you cursed by bad luck! You should try to be positive, tell yourself that OK thinhs aren't eaxctly good at the moment, haven't been for a while but hey! You have had some better times and there are plenty more of them on their way to you! Remain positive and instead of looking at bad luck, remind yourself how many bad situations you have managed to overcome! Thins always look better when you adopt a positive outlook!

try burning some sage all around you and focusing on good energy coming in and bad energy leaving. you will need to buy it in a bundle. you can find it at organic health food stores and i've seen it at a fleamarket before. or find some hippies, they'll know for sure where to find sage. good luck!

Stop creating it. It will haunt you as long as you concentrate on it.
Change your mind set, look at your life from a different angle. Write down where you want to be, visualise yourself there, see it in your minds eye, if you can travel there in your mind, you soon will in person too. Good Luck.

Stop thinking that you have bad luck, when things go wrong it makes our lives more interesting, if everything was perfect all the time the world would be a very dull place to be.
If you really think its bad luck, try writing ' my stinkin bad luck' on a peace of paper and then burn it, imagine its gone forever and get on with living!
