Pirates of the Caribbean

I think they were both excellent movies, but Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man's Chest was worse than the first film in the series, which makes "X-Men: The Last Stand" stand out more because it was better than the originals.

Alright, first off I am a HUGE fan of both series.

X-Men III I saw first and let me tell you I was very disappointed on how the job was done to finish the trilogy. The new director, as the original one passed to go do the new Superman, obviously doesn't know a thing about X-Men and wanted to get the job done as quickly as possible. They killed off characters that had no business being killed off and didn't explain anything to anyone's satisfaction in order to even begin to make this a permanent ending to this movie series. Although the movie had some funny lines and great effects I was severely disappointed in it over-all as it lacked everything that had made the first two movies so great.
If X-Men III had started out as the first X-Men movie, I don't think it would have gone anywhere. So while I loved the first two installments the last was a flop on a large scale.

Now, Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man's Chest was a by far superior movie due to the fact that it stuck to what had worked for it with the original. It was funny, had lots of action, awesome effects and of course, Johnny Depp as Capt. Jack Sparrow. To me the movie was more a continuation than a seperate movie in itself, although it does seem it takes place quite a bit time later than the first one ended with but you catch up right away with what had been happening in the past months. It had explainations for many different items that we, as fans, have become to know such as the Black Pearl and the Compass and gave us more insight into Jack's life. I did appreciate that for once the main goal of the film wasn't on the love of two people, they played the romance down and yet gave you something to think about by the end of the movie, for all of you who have seen it you understand my meaning. Plus the surprise ending, or should I say beginning of the next movie was a sure-fire way to get more people back for more in the last installment. This makes it a great 'sequel' and far more entertaining movie than X-Men III could ever hope to become.

Pirates of the Caribbean:Dead mans chest was definately better than X-Men:The last stand. I liked that movie too, but I liked Pirates more. The ending surprised me though, I wasn't expecting that at all. I thought it was gona be Will that died. Since somebody that said thats what was gonna happen didn't know what they were talking about.

X-men 3 was better than what i thought it would be.But Pirates was better.Pirates has been getting some bad press, but ignore it.Don't forget that part 2&3 are being filmed back to back. There are obviously going to be plot lines unresolved. And the ending of 2 completely blows it wide open for number 3.Shocking but good.

Why? because I am not a big fan of the super hero movie's none of them are original. They always have the same powers.
