I've read it twice. It's a good book, but I think it's just a good story. It has some validity to it, but I think, if anything, one has to read & study for themself & decide what it is they want to believe rather than depending on a novel to make up their minds for them.

ya the da vinci code is a brilliant potboiler...but if u wanna read a brilliantly written novel by brown then that has to be angels and demons...its a fantastically executed peice of fiction...about da vinci being true or not- well first of all if the things written about jesus are true, i do not see that as a reason for us not to follow his teachings. and secondly, we must not forget that da vinci was a half lunatic and all his paintings(which are given as a proof to suggest that jesus was married and that peter was the villain number 1...like in the last supper painting) and his other works of art are expressions of a subjective self. his paintings are his creations and he was free to draw all his fantasies or all the gross realities as he wished to draw. whether jesus was married or not, whether he was a god-man or just a prophet, whether he died on the cross or not and other such questions will always remain...even after u and me are finished. if u can follow the parables of jesus and can do the small (yet not so small) and easy (yet not so easy), things in ur life then i guess u wouldnt be too much worried by what brown writes...then u can enjoy the book and enjoy ur faith at the same time.

i read the book also.it didn't persuade me, and i don't know why people are waiting to be persuaded?! Dan Brown didn't wrote this book to persuade us that the concept of Christianity is wrong, he had mentioned many times this, he wrote a book, not a documentary essay that should change the history.
I didn't understand why the Christian people were totally against the book and the movie,if a book can make people questioning their own fate, so what kind of faith is this?
i may come up with anything now about any other religion, will this make it true?would people believe me,just because i may have a logical sense and i found some clues and proof to my logic?!
finally,i think Dan Brown got this success because he opened a Taboo subject, a new idea, that people were afraid to open.

I read it (is there anyone who hasn't read it :-). I thought it was a great book- really entertaining. I could totally see it being turned into a movie- it's like the script was already written.
It definitely gives you something to think about where religion is concerned. Especially the stuff about Jesus and marriage.
I don't believe it was written to 'persuade' but more to build a story about certain beliefs people have about religion.

I study the e book and became unimpressed with the author's 'sort' (if that is what you want to call it) of writing. His characters spent a lot time having a pipe dream and had to be "pulled decrease back" into truth a lot, it were given properly, dull. And his attitude to leaving the reader mind-blowing on the accurate of each and every financial ruin became like gazing cleansing soap opera's on Friday lol. i chanced on myself forcing myself to study by potential of to the accurate, in ordinary words because I hate to judge a e book except i have thoroughly study it. Oh, and to the poster who suggested that Dan Brown says that's fiction, that is no longer precisely authentic. He says contained in the author's be conscious on the starting up that each and each and all of us of the historic information are authentic. Even I, a trifling housewife in Houston, became able to be sure flaws including his 'information'. about the in ordinary words element I discovered from the total DaVinci Code journey became that publishers are extremely unscrupulous of their procedures of marketing a e book.

Well, it's a work of fiction loosely based on a little bit of factual history. I thought it was a compelling read, but I didn't think too much about it after I was done. I really don't understand the controversy, it is fiction after all.
Angels and Demons is a much better book by the same author.

I read it. I was intriguing but it didn't persuade me neither. I don't buy all that stuff about Jesus and the holy grail, I've seen many documentaries and essays that prove that Dan Brown doesn't have enough evidence to support his hypothesis..

I read the book. It definitely made me think outside of the box. However, I take it for what it is - A work of fiction. For me to believe the challenging questions presented, scientific findings would be required to prove or disprove the information.

I like the mystery part of the book. The things about Jesus are totally incorrect. I believe what the Bible says about Jesus.
