It seems to me that all of humanity's problems stem from greed and violence....All those billionares out there, and few care about the fate of humanity, they hound government to prevent research on the one thing that would really make a difference and stop the two things that would prevent world peace...We have the technology to build a better human model, but this raises "Ethical" questions....What could be more "ethical" than eliminating greed, poverty, war, and hatred from the world, as it is, we resemble unthinking animals as we strive to gather un-needed wealth, and personal power over all others! ..This is the most pressing problem, and is the only reason that we have created this intolerable situation....We must share our knowledge, wealth, and work together as a race if we are to survive past the next century, Otherwise it will continue as it is untill we become extinct by our own actions....Think about it.

First, because we are an incredibly long way from being able to identify genes for personality traits.

Second, greed and violence stem from competitive survival traits....in order to propagate its genes, an individual needs to strive for success as well as protect itself and its offspring. If you completely removed those instincts, you would achieve what you are suggesting, but the human race would probably not survive very much longer.

I completely agree that people who strive for success at the expense of others (greed) and those who hurt other people to achieve their own ends (violence) are a detriment to humanity. But genetic engineering won't help us with that. There will always be greed and violence in the world - the only way to fight it is the one we have been using for most of history: foster a culture of altruism and tolerance. Hopefully, our multicultural world will continue to foster cultures with more of those behaviors and less of the undesirable, destructive behaviors.

I know the world seems pretty violent and selfish right now, but remember that humanity has had a violent history...there is a great deal of good in the world.

not in any respect, purely God does that, examine Rev. 22:a million-3 & there'll be no extra curse & also verse 14, we will once back have get admission to to the tree of existence. yet all of this takes position after the milliunnienm that is even as after the judgement of the depraved, We then will all that is born in that eternal age will be born with eternal existence.

Well, this is part of the nature/nurture debate. Is greed, etc, biological, or is it learnt as we grow up? I think that if you're going to grow up in a world that's already filled with hate and war, you cannot be programmed to remain immune to it.

I don't know if you can genetically engineer greed and violence out of Humanity.Aren't they driven more by emotion instead of DNA?It's an interesting thought, though.

Dear God! I hope you don't vote. You're almost to silly to be allowed to breathe. Please don't reproduce. For the love of all things good, please don't reproduce.
