sad? we do not have cable, and we really do not feel like we have missed out on anything. my husband and I have been married almost 10 years and before we had kids we never had cable and then after we did we discussed it, but still it was way too much money to waste on something we would rarely watch. I know we are missing on on some educational channels, but life without it is so great around here , we do not miss it, we have lots of family time and we enjoy each other. we do have a nice big t.v., and we rent movies, and we get the basic local 4 stations , and PBS, the kids get there morning cartoons.

I think it is sad people can not live without it!

Why so sad? it is not like the world revolves around the boob tube
Open a book, get outside and enjoy the world...the world survived for millions of years without TV. There is a lot of talk about "child obesity" wonder why? lay down the remote, turn off the xbox and try going for a walk...so sad indeed

I didn't have cable for 5 hours once when I moved to a different apartment, but I survived.

i don't have cable. i'm a grownup so i can go out whenever i want and stuff. when i had roommates we had cable but now it's just me and i hardly ever turn on my tv. that's really only sad to people that like watching television.

I can't afford cable right now. The only channels I miss: Discovery, SciFi, NBA, History, ESPN, CNN.
