I'm a grocery checker. When I find old coins in my drawer, I always buy them. One time a man, in a desperate attempt to pay for his groceries gave me his 1921 silver dollar. (I would have had some stuff removed from the order before giving it up.)

I know this has been said before but eBay is good place to see how coins are selling.

By the way a 1921 dollar is worth in very-fine grade anywhere from $16 to $110.

Good luck and keep on saving those coins.

Like someone mentioned earlier, Ebay is a good source. Look at previous auctions to see what these coins sold for.

Usually, whatever price is in books giving values for coins is to halve (1/2) the price they list.

There are catalogues that claim to offer the values for a wide range of coins. However, the best way to find the value of a coin (value = whatever someone is willing to pay for it) is to check your coin on ebay. Look at the completed auctions to see if anything similar sold.
