I love fishing for trout, we just went last week!
Depending on where you are,
We use power bait, either the rainbow, or yellow/green
we also have had good luck with mini marshmellows
and niblets corn kernels.
Good luck
also a great way to cook them is to place on teh inside of the fish, a pat of butter, some garlic powder, onion slices, and then wrap it up in bacon then wrap in aluminum foil and grill it until done. Wow this is good!!

try one or two worms or a small night crawler with a mini marshmallow on a floating bait rig using a sinker of not over an eighth ounce if fishing in a lake. use artificial streamer flies in creeks and rivers or drift worms and nightcrawlers. look under rocks in streams for natural baits. helgramites are great but be careful...they bite.
