a black snake/ little less than a foot long/ yellow ring around neck. does anyone know if it is dangerous/deadly/poisonous or just harmless, please help i want to go back outside to swim. Oh i live in Mississippi if that will help

Its a northern ring-necked snake. The adults only grow up to 24 inches long. They're not venemous.

It is called a Northern RingNeck Snake. and yes they are completly harmless but are extremely fast and could give you a nasty bite that would hurt like hell but is not poisonous at all i have them in my yard as well and play with them daily

It might be a gardner snake, but Im not sure. it could also b e a baby of some kind. those r more dangerous (FYI)
