not ALL blacks were slaves, or even have distant slave ancestors, so giving blacks money based on what happened to a similarly colored person a couple hundred years ago is very racist in my view. should we send some money to africa because they're black?? ....even the bishops had slaves, should the church pay reparations? many presidents owned slaves, should the govt. pay? in some instances, blacks owned slaves, sometimes many many slaves, should they pay tthemselves? i can understand paying money if i actively participated in the slavery, but i wouldn't touch it with a 50 foot pole, so why must i be punished or related to horrible slave owners? it's like sueing mcdonalds for making you fat, it's an absolutely outrageous idea.

why would you get paid if you weren't a direct descendant of a slave, because of the color of your skin?....that's very poor thinking. it seems like a bunch of black folks trying to make a quick buck to me. nobody is denying the terrible things that happened, BUT you weren't a part of it, too bad so sad, no money.
