Lots of "kid" cartoons are targeted toward older audiences as well as kids, for example, Sponge Bob, Ren & Stimpy, even Tom & Jerry. Everyone in my house loves cartoons, but we all get something different out of watching.

I was re-introduced to cartoons by my grandson a few years ago. I realized I do enjoy watching them when I find myself still in front of the TV when he has gone on to do other things. Also, I won't let him change the channel cuz I have to see what happens at the end. My favorite cartoon is "PINGU" about a little penguin & his family/friends. I'm old enough to be your mom & the only explanation I can give you is cartoons can be fun, light hearted entertainment & make you a kid again.

I'm 21 and I still watch cartoons from time to time when I have time to. I don't really like the cartoons these days though. I miss my old school cartoons like Bugs Bunny, Tom and Jerry, Rugrats and even Tiny Toons...oh and Johnny Quest, the Jetsons and so on. My reason for still watching them: It brings back memories of being a much younger kid and actually waking up early on saturdays to watch cartoons. Ah, the days when I had no responsibility...I miss those.

I am a 23 year old female, and i still watch cartoons. Cartoons today target adults too. Plus, they are funny. Spongebob and Fairly Odd Parents are two of my faves. My husband watches cartoons, as well as 4 of my friends, my dad...and a few other people I know. It doesn't mean ou are immature or anything. I love all of the Disney/Pixar movies, and I just saw cars a couple of weeks ago.

For me it's simple. I watch cartoons that I saw in my childhood so I can bring back memories of more innocent and less stressful times, and feel more at ease and happier. It's the same reason I watch reruns of The Andy Griffith Show, or Leave it to Beaver, and such. Also, cartoons, or the older ones I grew up with, were just innocent, insane, slapstick humor, with no hidden messages or advertisers' agendas in them. They were just fun. And I'm WAAAYYYYYY past my twenties, and highly educated. It's just innocent and simple fun. God Bless you.

Sometimes adults just want to forget about all of the bad things in our lives and have a good laugh or two with cartoons. There's nothing wrong with that.

I don't know why either but I still love to watch cartoons. I just use my kids as an excuse so no one can make fun of me. Thankfully, my husband likes cartoons too.
