There is no one answer for that. If you want to talk about in the U.S. I think it's because so they still haven't caught up with culture and society from the slave days - poverty breeds poverty.
Some will says it's because whitey oppresses the blacks. You only have to look at all the successful black people in history to know that's not neccesarily true. There are also a lot of poor white and "brown" people all over the world, probably more than black people. The question just can't be answered.

Well im From Peru South America , since i got here i found out that yeah not all black people is poor but like the getho pleaces and the poorest areas are populated whit lots of black people, i think is because the feeling of inferiority in most of the african Americans , thats why they talk loud and dress extravagant to say hey im here look at me , and is the same reazon why lots pf black people is poor , now compare black comunity whit mexicans , more of the black people is sustent by money from the goverment again im not saying all but a very considerate number does and it is not extrange to everybody, black people have legal papers and all what they need to work but most of em wont do it , the mexican came ilegal but have a mentality of superation and works in construction or most of the heavy jobs .This is the only country where black people still mentaly opresed by theyr ancestors beeing slaves and ***** about it 2/7 black people in other pleaces wont do that so thate is something to think about a best question for this will be why is most black people no all of em , this is not racist is just thinking about a fact.

For the same reason white people are. And Asian people, and pacific Island people. Because the rich do not believe in sharing wealth. They believe that only those who, "work hard" should have wealth. And those that own wealth, and can influence governments take advantage of the poor. In recent years those with wealth have realized that the "poor" are counter productive to their goals of greed, and have begun to figure out how to put poor people into even worse conditions by creating the "working poor". That way poor people aren't merely existing and being given subsistence, but are still helping the rich to gain wealth.

You have to be careful about making blanket statements because usually they aren't true. Are you saying that only black people are poor or that the poor of the world include black people? To say that only black people are poor is incorrect, but to say that the poor in the world includes black people would be true. It is also true that the poor people of the world include people of every race.

black people as you say are poor all over the world? do you have evidence to back that up? or did you forget about the black people who arent poor, or did you even think about some of the black people who are some richest people in the world? there are poor people all over the world no matter what race! think about that!

There are many rich black people, and comfortable black people, as well as working class black people. It has nothing to do with what color they are. All kinds of different nationalities are poor... it's just where poverty is, is the factor.

I'm black and I'm not poor. I am of this world, aren't I? Let me check.... yes, I am. And so are my parents, siblings, friends, associates, and coworkers, and none of them are poor. I suggest you either rephrase the question so that the answer you are looking for is given, or so that you can mask the racism flowing through this question.

There is not one answer that covers this.. There is definately social opression of people by race in all places in the world, something I hope we will one day evolve out of. But, poverty is not limited to one race, there are places in east asia, south america, in fact any place you may care to name, that have desperately poor people of all creeds and colors. Certainly the african continent has endured a terrible hardship in this last century, but so has India, China, and the peoples of many other places have also endured their share of hardship and tradgedy.

Um are u black? And if not I think you are seriously racist. But i'm black(mixed) and i'm no where near poor. My first car was a bmw and I cant think of a time when I didnt have money or couldnt get whatever I desired. So your stereotype is false.

Here are a few of examples, which proove u rong:

*-Tiger Woods(Golfer)
-Mohamed Ali(Boxer)
*-David Ortiez(Boston Red Sox~Baseball)
*-Bill Cozby(Television)
*-Oprah Winfrey(I dont particualry care, but she's rich!)
-Michael Jackson(Singing, but now white...lol)
*-Michael Jordan(Basketball)
*-"Magic" Johnson(Basketball)
-Black Realators
-Black merchants

Thats my list, and i can think of many more! otherwise, this is a realistic answer to your query:

The Poorness of 'Colored' people, is due to having less power in a government, no job openings, no money to get a plane ticket or form of transportation to another land, and having large families. However, as seen from my list above, black people are not ALWAYS poor. There are accually some very accomplished black people, and they are looked up to. Some black people, however, are looked down upon, and thought of as 'hoboes' or 'lowlifes'. I, however, being a white male, look up to many black people, marked with a * on the list. Let me put in one word for myself tho- MICHAEL JACKSON SUX! HE LET DOWN HIS WHOLE ENTIRE RACE!!!
