My catchphrase again:
People are too obsessed with their reilgions to see the flaws that are so eminent in them.
Wow! I keep getting more and more use out of that phrase!

Because they must not have anything better to do, or there must not be some other population that they feel the need to harrass. Some religious people are the most hypocritical people out there, but yet will find some justification of why "judge lest ye be judged" doesn't apply to them or in this situation, blah blah blah. We'll see when the time comes. I know that I believe in a God who welcomes people from all different walks of life, not just a "select" few.

Your question has a fairly sensible slant to it. So I thought I'd answer. (BTW, I'm not one of those "hell" people you're referring to).
I find that most LGBT questions around here are pretty in-your-face, some downright militant, just like most of the questions that pop up in Yahoo! regarding beliefs, lifestyles, viewpoints. And those few that are sensible, like yours, still attract all the people who dislike the group in question. I will say this: I see far more anti-Christian questions than I do anti-gay.
Basically, Yahoo! answers, just like Yahoo! chat, is a public forum, meaning there is no accounting for taste, or brains. If you want a high-minded discussion, this ain't the place. You get what you pay for.
I think that practicing homosexuality is wrong, but I see no advantage or right thinking in saying "you're going to hell". There's a lot of people in this world that are that look lily white to everyone. I personally think websites promoting the idea that "God hates fags" are detestable in the extreme.
But it is interesting that you end your comment with "why can't they just mind their own business?", when the same could be said for the militant homosexual movement. Without knowing, I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt that you are just as turned of by that as I am. Most reasonable folk want to just live their lives. Agendas are for people with no compass in their lives.

Well, I can only hope that they feel good about themselves. I also pose this question to them: tell me in the bible where Jesus Is quoted as saying it is wrong...guess what boys and girls it Ain't there...the main one is in Leviticus (Jewish Law) don't lie with one of thine own..blah..blah..blah....ok but here is the pip...these same people that use that line, are the same ones that in different context will say that the old testament was nailed to the cross when Jesus was killed. Also one last point. We, in this country, have a thing called Separation of church and state. I ask all those against GLBT's to give me a reason why it is wrong other then religious reasons. Give me one solid point that can't be disputed. You can't say the kids are not normal from GLBT couples, that has been proven that they are more open minded and better versed on the ways of the world then many kids their own age...

Unfortunately for those "Bible Thumpers", they have lost focus on what's important in God's Word. They choose to rationalize bigoted and rasict and hateful ideas by using this wonderful Book to trod upon others. Because of this, our society has gone from a peaceful, loving world to a narrow-minded, disillusioned place. Too many choose not to focus on 99% of the Bible, and focus only on the 1% that - even to this day - does not directly condemn homosexuality. In fact, if my memory of Bible studies is still intact, the Bible actually says that "a man shall not lie with his brother". Therefore, some may choose to interpret this as a condemnation of incest. You be the judge.

Unfortunately, religious people are indoctrinated into speaking out against homosexuality. Whilst the current Bible might condemn homosexuality - one must remember that the Bible was written by man and has been translated etc through the ages. No matter how perfect God's words are, mankind isn't perfect - and is therefore not capable of reporting God's words perfectly.

I don't go to the LGBT section, I know alot of others probably do!
I know what your life choices are, and I'm not making fun or telling you, that you are going to hell. I don't judge you for what
you do, however I do pray that someday you might come to know
Jesus, and once you know him, you will want to change your lifestyle.
But if others are bashing you guys, gals and ?s They are wrong for doing so!!!!!!!!!!!!
Because sin is sin. If they are looking at the sliver in your eye
they will never get the board out of their own eye. I can only say
I'm truly sorry for all the harassment you are recieving.

I think the people on the far right who interpret certain selected quotations from the Bible very literally, feel that they are losing on this question, and therefore they lash out often and hard.
Becuase of this, it seems as though there are more of them than there really are. That's part of the plot.
Truly, the more they thrash about, the more I'm convinced that the mainstream is coming around to understand the Bible's greatest teaching, that of Jesus Christ when he gave the one most important commandent me, paraphrased : Love God, and Love your Neighbor as yourself.

I'm sure you're talking about the far-right "Christian" activists and not a truly religous person. Most religions are genuine, as opposed to the relatively new and extraordinarily narrow-minded and fault-filled "Christian" Fundamentalist CULT.
I have my own opinions why they come in here, and most of them are quite laughable. I'm glad they're here. They are sooooooo much fun to play with.
It may be a little like taking advantage of those who rode the short bus to school and I feel just a wee bit guilty...but not enough to stop!

i'm a immediately Christian female and that i comprehend the way you sense. some people continually sense the favor to placed people down by using declaring nasty comments. the finest element to do is to dismiss them. i hit upon it truly problematic even as people use the call of the Lord to damage people. that is not accurate in any respect. God is all about wanting us to love and settle for one and different. With a lot hatred of their hearts, they don't seem serving the Lord.
