I have been at my current job for 7 years now. I began when I was 18, and because of work never went to college. I started as a salesman and over the years have worked my way up into managment. I am on pace to make $140k this year and should not ever make less than $100k if I stay with the company. My wife and I have two wonderful boys (ages 3 & 1). My oldest is starting to realize that I am at work almost all the time (70 hrs/wk). Other than our home and her vehicle, we have no debt. She is a nurse and we have managed to accumulate what I feel is a decent amount of money in savings...plus the equity we have in our home. I dont want to miss my boys growing up, so my question is this: What's out there for someone like myself with no college degree, but with an enormous amount of real world experience, motivation, and ability?

If you think you can do better then what you are doing right now, then go back to school and move on to bigger and better things. If you are happy with your current lifestyle, stick with it. Sorry if it does not help.

If you have lived in your area for a long time and are familiarwith the neighborhoods, and know a lot of people, try real estate. It may take some money to get started, but you can get much of the prep done while still maintainig a full time job. What so nice about it is you can schedule "appointments around your family's lives. I have three grown children "jocks" and never missed a game, because those were "appointments". No client ever needs to know that they are second to anyone, just that you have another"appointment"! Good Luck!

I made the same mistake and quit college because of a great paying job. My husband is in sales and it's tough but the rewards are great. Most companies are always looking for good sales people. Look in the yellow pages for a head hunter- employment consultant that works in your field. Do not work with anyone who charges you a fee. A good company will pay a head hunter to find an employee. Cheap companies (you don't want to work for them anyways) don't pay headhunters so the headhunter has to charge the employee. make a it clear to the prospective employer that you are a successful , dedicated employee, but also a family man and you will keep regular work hours. ( Don't worry about the college degree) Good luck! My kids are in college and one in high school- it goes fast- you can work those longer hours whne they grow up and leave, they are only young once!

well this is the 64,000 dollar question, however there are more answers to give you then you want to know, my first question before i answer your question is: What is your relationship with God? it makes a difference to know as far as the answer you will receive...however the response is the same and so is the outcome.

see without God first and i do mean first in your life you are always going to be ata dead end job. regardless of the bank account you are poor if your faith in Him is lacking to be rich is to have the full capacity of faith in God and to make sure you put him first in all your daily activities, and that includes your finances if you want a better career, or more money place your burden upon God's ears and believe he will answer and have faith in that he will deliver and trust in Him
