in my opinion human civilization is allot older than we think. allot of people are finding evidence of this but the science community at large just ignores it. that's the problem with science today, any theories that contradicts with the general consciences is pushed aside and laughed at. they don't want their work to be for nothing, and if new theories say something different their work is useless. my thoughts are that mankind thousands of years ago, was more technology advanced than we think but they abandoned it when they ended up with allot of the same problems as today. that or they ended up wiping themselves out in some way and the general masses didn't know what to do with the tech. they had to start from scratch and learn everything over. the ways they built these monuments may be lost forever and it may be for the best. the knowledge may have been destroyed on purpose to keep us from making the same mistakes as our ancestors.

I don't think they had better technology, which is why the people spent time to create the wonders. We spend to much time on computers, talking on the phone, and watching tv to take time to enjoy and pay homage to the natural beauty of the earth.
