I have very pale, but blotchy skin. There are alot of red spots and areas on my cheaks and face and I don't know what to do about them now that it's summer....usually I wear foundation and powder in the winter...but now it's way too hot.

I look really bad with bronzer because the rest of my body is really pale. I have red-brown hair and I think that this makes the red in my face stand out even more....any suggestions?

Use a concealer that is close to your natural skin tone . Dab it only on the red areas . And Blend. Blotchy skin on the face is commonly cause by too much caffeine , cigarettes (nicotine) hot spicy foods . And sun . Stay clear of these and see if the redness goes away . If not there is a condition (not fatal ) that causes redness and is hereditary . I can't remember the name of it right now , but , when I do I'll send it to you .

I am just like you- reddish hair and pale blotchy skin. When my skin is irritated I put something calming on it- like yogurt. It cools my face and helps with the redness. I also prefer a tinted moisturizer over foundation- foundation is too heavy for people with pale skin. You should try a tinted moisturizer with SPF in it and just try to stay out of the sun as much as possible.

Make your own foundation by putting 3/4 parts of a lotion or SPF with 1/4 part of the foundation matching your natural skin tone. The lotion or sunscreen will be lighter than the foundation, but you'll have enough foundation to give you a slight tint to cover the red spots. Also try a green concealer. The green will neutralize the red.

Neutrogena makes a moisturizer that evens out skin tone and helps get rid of red blotchiness. It's called Visibly Even. I have been using this for a while now and it works.

try Bare minerals makeup. look up if there is an ULTA store near you. They sell kits that are put together with everything you need and the stuff lasts a long time because you don't use a lot. get the one for fair tones. I use this in Arizona and it is so light you can't even tell you're wearing any makeup at all.

A tinted moisturizer will give you a little color and a little coverage. Lancome Dual Finish powder gives great coverage and doesn't feel heavy. I live in Texas where it gets extremely hot and humid and it still works great for me. Tinted moisturizers are great, but they do not have good coverage.

I strongly suggest you use Bare Minerals. It works well with your skin type. It is expensive, but well worth it! You can order it at:

http://www.sephora.com
just search by brand: Bare Escentuals

I suggest you go to "palattes and gift ideas" and get the start-up kit for light/fairly light skin. It is $60.

i dont think there's a quick fix, i would buy a product for your skin type... like a miosturizer, or something... meanwhile, try using a lighter foundation, instead of liquid, use that mouse foundation stuff they have now. i think its a bit more expensive, but you could try.
