In the early 70s Black Sabbath were second only to the mighty Zep for the title of biggest rock band in world. They sold out stadiums for years and were really the first metal band in the world. I think that warrants some legendary status. The comedy of the Osbournes TV show is how far he's come from being a rock God. Ozzy is a legend in my book, and you should really read up a bit more about them before passing judgement.

Seems to me that you are likely not even old enough to know what a real "ROCK" star IS.
I am old enough that I loved Rock-n-Roll before Ozzy got around to being famous, and I don't really consider his music Rock, just Metal. To me there's a difference, to others there is not.
Regardless, Ozzy was very famous for hundreds of songs and many albums, and is a legend in the music world.
Like everyone else told you - do some research before your foolishness shows itself in the form of a question.

I have heard some of his music, and although I wasn't his biggest fans, his song "Crazy Train" was great at the time! You can't base the work of an artist on one song--you need to try a few. He hits his notes and Ozzy can rock! His daughter is not talentless, either. She still has room to evolve.

You sound pretty ignorant of his musical career. You can't just listen to the stuff he has done recently and make a blanket statement that all of his music is crap and that he's not worthy of his rock star status. There are lot of other people out there that haven't worked nearly as hard or as long as Ozzy has who are considered "rock stars". I think if you don't know what you are talking about you should keep your uneducated opinion to yourself.

So you're judging a man's whole career by one song that you don't even know the name of? Great discernment, there. The man has been creating music for over thirty years, which is more than anybody will ever be able to say for you.

Well he's sold over 70 million albums worldwide with Black Sabbath and over 50 million albums wordwide as a solo artist. I think that probably qualifies him to call himself a rock star. What do you think?

Black Sabbath was one of the Godfather's of metal. He had a great run of successful albums in the 80's. If you don't like metal or rock, then I guess you wouldn't like him. Or if you are too young to remember any of his earlier work.
His reputation as the prince of darkness and a forefather of metal, stands on this.

How old are you? Just because you can't recall his music doesn't mean he isn't an icon.....
Seriously, you should have researched Ozzy Osbourne before posting this question. You really come off looking ignorant.

He can grunt, look off his face and behave like he is off the wall. Who needs talent when you have the makings of a dilapidated rock star.
