First of all, NEVER GIVE YOUR BABY HONEY!! Honey contains bacteria that can cause a form of botulism in infants. Second, try baby motrin. Ibuprofin (the painkiller in motrin) reduces swelling as well as stopping the pain. A lot of the reason for the teething pain is the pressure from the swollen gums. Give the Motrin every 8-10 hours, because Motrin works on itself...if you only give it to the baby when it seems to be in pain it is less effective. And finally, I found this teether that is shaped like a star on a handle and it vibrates when you bite it...my son loved it when he started teething. He was too little at first to make it vibrate on his own, so I would squeeze it for him and hold it in his mouth. Also, those Homedic massagers that come in bright colors that have three legs work well.

Orajel does not stay on the gums very long because of the drooling. Tylenol might work. If your baby hates it like mine, you can try the suppositories. Gross, but easy. Teething rings, my baby doesn't like them cold, just room temperature. Make sure your baby does not have a fever. Teething shouldn't cause fevers. My baby was teething and I thought that's all it was until I called the doctor. When she went they checked her out and discovered she has bad sores in the back of her throat due to Coxsackie disease. After a few days, she was much better. Good luck!

Go to the store, preferrably a Health Food Store, and purchase Homeopathic Teething Tablets. They melt instantly on the tongue, taste sweet, and work miracles. I have 3 kids, and I didn't find out about this until the 3rd. What a huge difference these pills make, and they are safe!

well it depends on the age of your child. My daughter was six months old when she started teething and I had her on the Nu-by sippy cup with the soft plastic nipple. So I would put a 100% juice Popsicle in it with water and make a slushy. She could chew on it and the cold would numb her teeth and she wouldn't make a mess with a regular Popsicle. It works with bottles but not as well because the nipple isn't as flat as on the Nu-by. Hope it helps!

The simplest way of the lot is give the child a metal spoon with a bit of jam or honey on it. The child will soon learn to chew on it and help the teeth through. (I am one of the eldest in a family of 13 and have seen it all before).

okay first off dont give her baby oragel, studies recently found it may cause heart murmers....instead rely on baby tylenol, or motrine. freeze waffels, bagels, or teething rings and let her naw at them....if shes sensitive to frozen, try the refridgerator instead. also carrots cut in chunky strips are good too..... try to keep her stimulated to keep her mind off things! best wishes!!!
