The legs will gain muscle, but the cardio will burn the fat on the legs. They will get smaller from the burning of the fat. Just get your heartrate up, and keep it there.

By doing more walking, you will burn more calories, which will force your body to dip into its fat stores to gather the required energy. This is assuming that you are only consuming the number of calories your body requires in one day, and that exercising will put you into a calorie defecit. You would not lose weight specifically from your legs, as the fat would be burned off equally from your entire body.
As for bulkiness, your legs may become more muscular as a result of the increase in walking, but they will not become 'bulky'. Walking is not an anaerobic activity (ie. lifting heavy weights), and therefore will likely only create definition in your legs, rather than bulk.
Hope this helps.

Hi Being female i may be able to help you there, walking is the kindest form of exercise for the body if you are not used to exercise , your legs will tone up and you will loose the fat content, so even if they do not get smaller they will look great and you will be a stronger healthier and a more confident person, knowing what you are doing is safe and beneficial to you

Walking builds muscle and muscle burns fat, so your legs will be thinner but firmer, though walking isn't the fastest way to lose weight. Biking, jogging, and swimming are a lot faster, but doing anything, even walking is still better than nothing.

You'll lose weight and your you might notice muscles in your leg. But the losing weight part is for different type of person. For example, some person lose weight better by walking, than running. Whatever best suits you.

Well, actually when you walk your not causing any pressure on your leg muscles like if you were lifting weights.. when you lift weights.. you are ripping your muscle up allowing tissue to come in and build over it making your muscle bigger.. soo basically yes you will lose weight but also increase your stamina ;-D Sooo 2 good things..

Your muscles will tone up without gaining bulk if you walk at a steady pace without carring weights. Muscle burns more calories than fat, so as you continue, your capacity to lose weight will increase.

If you do rapid walking on level ground, the legs will get toned but not bulky. If there's lot of hills on your walking route, your muscles will get bigger.
I live in San Francisco, and my daily walk is like being on a step machine.

Walking for at least 20 - 30 minutes a day will help increase your metabolism and burn fat from all over. It is not enough to build muscle mass, so "you" will do just fine.
