I heard a rumor that some businesses were toying with the idea a few years back to start a Women's National Football League. Is this true?

There are three pro leagues for women, the NWFA, WPFL, and IWFL. All are national leagues that play by the NFL rules. I've had several people think women couldn't play football and then after coming to a game, remark that you'd think they were men because we're just as good!

There have been a number of women's pro football teams and leagues. A DJ on our local station was a quarterback for a team in Florida. We had a team called the Baltimore Burn here as well. Most of these efforts have a tough time recruiting players and fans on a consistent basis.

I haven't heard about a womens football league involving the NFL but I think it would be cool. I love football and will watch any game. I know there are women's football leagues all over the country. It doesn't matter what thier gender is as long as they love the game. Football is football. God bless America!!

I havent but there are some women football leagues. Actually, my dad was the coach of a Pittsburgh team. He played at Nebraska, thats why he got the job. When I was playing in high school he said the talent level was better then you would expect and they were probably comprable to a freshman or sophomore high school team.

I haven't heard of any plans, but I would not be surprised. If anything, it will keep them from playing in the NFL. There are many semi-pro leagues around. I think Philly's team is called the Phoenix.

Actually they changed the name to WNFA or something like that and YES I have heard of them. They have a team in Pittsburgh as well as in my current city. I think the Pittsburgh team is named the Passion so start there.
