Todays genetic research could pontentially re-unlock some things from the pass. Could we do this in the near future?

Well I have to question why Hollywood is being limited in what they produce nowadays. King Kong being the exception with one or two other movies, why hasn't movies with these creature been produce?

Why genetics? Archaeology has proven this already. And there are modern day examples, too, check Guiness Book of World Records.
